Classic bajre ki roti.

Ingredients

4 servings
Bajra flour (pearl millet flour)2 cups
Waterabout 3/4 cup, hot
Salta pinch
Gheeto serve, or white butter
Jaggeryto serve, optional

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix bajra flour and salt with hot water, a little at a time, to a soft dough. Knead each portion just before rolling.
  2. 2Pat a ball into a 5 to 6 inch roti between your palms or on a wet cloth.
  3. 3Cook on a hot tawa, sprinkling a little water on top. Flip when the base sets.
  4. 4Finish directly on the flame or press on the tawa until it puffs slightly.
  5. 5Serve hot with ghee or white butter and jaggery.
Serve it like this
