Ingredients

4 servings
Pork4 boneless chops
Soy sauce1 tbsp
Sugar1 tbsp
Egg3
Cornflour (cornstarch)¼ cup
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for frying
Cooked rice4 cups day old rice
Onion1, sliced
Tomato3, in wedges
Tomato ketchup (ketchup)4 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce2 tsp
Water⅔ cup
Mozzarella1¼ cups, grated
Saltto taste

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Pound the chops, marinate with soy, a pinch of sugar and 1 egg, then dredge in cornflour.
  2. 2Pan fry the chops until golden and cooked through. Slice.
  3. 3Fry the rice with the remaining beaten eggs and salt until fluffy. Spread in a baking dish.
  4. 4Fry onion, add tomatoes, ketchup, remaining sugar, Worcestershire and water and simmer 8 minutes.
  5. 5Lay chops on the rice, pour over the sauce, top with cheese and bake at 220 C for 15 minutes until bubbling and brown.
Serve it like this

Serve straight from the oven in its dish with the cheese still bubbling, with a cold lemon tea or hot milk tea alongside.
