Ingredients

Cabbage1 small head, finely shredded
Potato2 medium, small cubes
Green peas½ cup
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Ghee2 tsp
Cumin seeds½ tsp
Bay leaf (indian bay leaf)2
Whole spices2 cardamom, 2 cloves
Ginger4 cm, grated
Tomato1 large, chopped
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Cumin powder (ground cumin)1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder1 tsp
Sugar1 tsp
Saltto taste
Garam masala½ tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Heat oil, add cumin, bay leaves and whole spices. Add the potatoes and fry until lightly golden.
  2. 2Add ginger, tomato, turmeric, cumin and chilli powder. Cook until the tomato softens.
  3. 3Add the cabbage, peas and salt. Cover and cook on low, stirring now and then.
  4. 4Uncover, add sugar and cook until dry. Finish with ghee and garam masala.
Serve it like this

Serve hot on a plate, with a few fresh coriander leaves on top.
