Classic Danish butter cookies.

Ingredients

Butter¾ cup plus 2 tbsp, soft
Sugar¾ cup, powdered
Egg white1
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2 cups
Salta pinch
Milk1 tbsp

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Beat the soft butter and powdered sugar until very light, about 4 minutes. Beat in the egg white and vanilla.
  2. 2Fold in the maida and salt, adding milk only if needed to pipe.
  3. 3Pipe rosettes and rings with a large star nozzle onto a lined tray. Sprinkle a few with sugar.
  4. 4Chill the tray 15 minutes while the oven heats to 180 C.
  5. 5Bake 12 to 14 minutes.
Serve it like this
