Ingredients

8 servings
Rice flour1⅔ cups
Besan (chickpea flour, gram flour)½ cup
Sesame seeds2 tsp
Ajwain (carom seeds)½ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1 tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Asafoetidaa pinch
Wateras needed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for dough and frying
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix rice flour, besan, sesame, ajwain, chilli, turmeric, asafoetida and salt. Add 2 tbsp hot oil and rub in.
  2. 2Add water and knead a soft dough.
  3. 3Press spirals onto paper using a chakli press.
  4. 4Fry in medium hot oil till the bubbling stops.
Serve it like this

Drain on paper for a minute, pile onto a plate and serve hot with chutney on the side.
