Ingredients

8 servings
Puff pastry400 g sheet
Milk1 tbsp plus a little to brush
Sugar⅓ cup, divided, powdered for cream
Fresh cream (thickened cream, heavy cream)1 cup, chilled
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)½ tsp
Tutti frutti (glacé fruit, candied fruit)2 tbsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)to grease moulds

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Grease cone moulds, or make cones from foil wrapped in baking paper.
  2. 2Cut pastry into 1 inch strips and wind each round a cone, overlapping slightly, from tip to base.
  3. 3Brush with milk, sprinkle with 15 g sugar and bake at 200 C for 15 to 18 minutes.
  4. 4Slide off the moulds while warm and cool completely.
  5. 5Whip the cream with the remaining sugar and vanilla to stiff peaks. Pipe into each horn and top with tutti frutti.
Serve it like this

Serve fresh on a plate, cream end up, within a few hours of filling so the pastry stays crisp.
