Ingredients

Cluster beans (guar beans)3 cups, strings removed, cut in 1 inch pieces
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1½ tbsp
Ajwain (carom seeds)½ tsp
Asafoetidaa pinch
Garlic4 cloves, crushed
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1 tsp
Coriander powder (ground coriander)1¼ tsp
Jaggery1 tsp
Lemon juice1 tsp
Saltto taste
Water⅓ cup

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Wash the gavar, pinch off both ends with any strings and cut into pieces.
  2. 2Heat oil, add ajwain, asafoetida and garlic and fry 30 seconds.
  3. 3Add gavar, turmeric, salt and water. Cover and cook on low until tender, about 12 minutes.
  4. 4Add chilli, coriander powder and jaggery, cook uncovered 3 minutes, finish with lemon.
Serve it like this

Serve hot on a plate, with a few fresh coriander leaves on top.
