Ingredients

4 servings
Prawns (shrimp)400 g, cleaned
Fresh grated coconut1 cup
Onion1 medium, chopped
Garlic5 cloves, crushed
Malvani masala1½ tbsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Kokum2 petals
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Coriander leaves (cilantro)a handful
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Rub prawns with turmeric, salt and half the malvani masala and rest 10 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil, fry garlic and onion until golden, add the rest of the masala and fry 1 minute.
  3. 3Add the prawns and kokum and toss on high for 3 minutes until pink.
  4. 4Add coconut and toss 2 minutes. Finish with coriander.
Serve it like this

Serve hot on a plate, with a few fresh coriander leaves on top.
