Glutinous rice (sweet rice)2 cups
Waterfor soaking and steaming

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Soak the rice in plenty of water for at least 6 hours or overnight. Drain.
  2. 2Steam in a bamboo basket or cloth lined steamer over boiling water for 15 minutes.
  3. 3Flip the rice in one piece and steam another 10 minutes.
  4. 4Turn onto a tray, spread briefly to release steam, then keep in a covered basket.
Serve it like this

Serve in a small woven basket (tip khao) with the lid on to keep it warm, beside larb, grilled chicken and jaew.
