Ingredients

4 servings
Rolled oats (porridge oats)1 cup, split: 1/2 cup powdered, rest for coating
Potato2 medium, boiled and mashed
Carrot1, grated
Green beans6, finely chopped
Green peas½ cup, boiled
Capsicum (green capsicum, green bell pepper)¼, finely chopped
Onion1 small, finely chopped
Ginger1.5 cm, grated
Green chilli1, chopped
Coriander leaves (cilantro)2 tbsp
Garam masala½ tsp
Chaat masala½ tsp
Dry mango powder¼ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)½ tsp
Saltto taste
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for the tawa

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Steam or saute carrot, beans and capsicum for 3 minutes until just soft. Cool.
  2. 2Mix potato, vegetables, peas, onion, ginger, chilli, coriander, spices, salt and powdered oats into a firm dough.
  3. 3Shape into 12 flat cutlets and press both sides into the remaining oats.
  4. 4Cook on a tawa with oil on medium heat, 3 to 4 minutes a side, until crisp and golden.
  5. 5Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
Serve it like this

Drain on paper for a minute, pile onto a plate and serve hot with chutney on the side.
