Pepper water

Rasam is a thin, peppery, tangy South Indian soup made with tamarind and tomato, and its English name, mulligatawny, comes from the Tamil for pepper water. Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup with a clear spiced broth.

Both are sipped for comfort.
