Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)1¼ cups
Rice flour⅓ cup
Baking powder2 tsp
Sugar½ cup, or brown sugar
Water⅔ cup, warm
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tsp

Method

  1. 1Dissolve the sugar in warm water and cool slightly.
  2. 2Whisk in the flours, baking powder and oil to a smooth, thick batter.
  3. 3Line cups in a steamer with paper cases and fill them to the brim.
  4. 4Steam over fiercely boiling water for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  5. 5Rest 5 minutes and serve warm.
Serve it like this
