Classic bakery jeera biscuits.

Ingredients

12 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)1½ cups
Butter½ cup, soft
Sugar½ cup, powdered
Cumin seeds1 tbsp, lightly roasted
Salt¾ tsp
Baking powder½ tsp
Milk2 tbsp

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Lightly roast the cumin until fragrant and cool.
  2. 2Cream butter, sugar and salt until light.
  3. 3Add maida, baking powder, most of the cumin and the milk. Bring together without kneading.
  4. 4Roll to 1/4 inch thick, press the rest of the cumin on top and cut rounds. Prick with a fork.
  5. 5Bake at 170 C for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool on the tray.
Serve it like this
