Ingredients

4 servings
Moong dal (split yellow mung beans)½ cup, soaked 1 hour
Raw mango (green mango)1 small, grated
Fresh grated coconut⅓ cup
Green chilli1, finely chopped
Coriander leaves (cilantro)a handful, chopped
Salt½ tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tsp
Mustard seeds½ tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Asafoetidaa pinch

Method

3 steps
  1. 1Soak moong dal for an hour, drain well.
  2. 2Grate the raw mango, skin and all if tender.
  3. 3Mix dal, mango, coconut, chilli and coriander. Temper mustard, curry leaves and asafoetida in oil and pour over. Salt just before serving.
Serve it like this
