Puffed rice4 cups murmura
Jaggery¾ cup, grated
Ghee2 tsp, plus a little for your palms
Sesame seeds1 tbsp, lightly toasted
Cardamom¼ tsp
Water2 tbspMethod
- 1Dry roast the murmura in a wide pan for 3 to 4 minutes and keep aside.
- 2Melt the jaggery with the water and ghee on low heat, then simmer until it reaches hard ball stage.
- 3Turn off the heat and quickly stir in the cardamom, sesame and murmura until every piece is coated.
- 4Grease your palms and press small portions into ladoos while warm. An adult handles the hot syrup; kids can help shape once it is just warm.
Serve it like thisPack two ladoos in a small steel box with butter paper between them. Store the rest in an airtight jar.
