Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2 cups
Baking powder2 tsp
Salt¾ tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp in the dough, plus oil for frying
Milk⅔ cup, warm

- 1Mix flour, baking powder and salt, rub in 1 tbsp oil, then add warm milk to make a soft dough. Knead 2 minutes and rest 20 minutes, covered.
- 2Roll 3 mm thick and cut into 8 cm squares or triangles.
- 3Fry a few at a time in oil at 190°C, spooning hot oil over the tops until they puff, then turn once.
- 4Drain and serve hot with honey.
