Ingredients

4 servings
Minced beef (beef mince, beef or buff keema)400 g beef mince
Minced pork (pork mince, ground pork)200 g pork mince
Onion1 large: half grated, half sliced
Garlic2 cloves, grated
Paprika1½ tsp
Black pepper1 tsp
Saltto taste
Pita bread4 lepinja or thick flatbreads
Cream cheesekajmak or cream cheese
Tomatosliced

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix meats, grated onion, garlic, paprika, salt, pepper and a splash of cold water. Knead well and rest 1 hour.
  2. 2Shape into large thin patties, about 1 cm thick.
  3. 3Grill over hot coals or a grill pan for 4 to 5 minutes a side.
  4. 4Warm the lepinja on the grill, spread with kajmak, add patty, onion and tomato.
Serve it like this

Fold into warm lepinja with kajmak, raw onion and tomato, or plate with ajvar, onion and fries.
