Ingredients

2 servings
Instant noodles2 packs, without seasoning
Beef160 g, thinly sliced
Cornflour (cornstarch)1 tsp
Soy sauce1 tbsp
Baking soda (bicarb soda, bicarbonate of soda)a pinch
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp
Peanut butter2 tbsp
Curry powder1 tsp
Sugar1 tsp
Dried shrimp1 tsp, ground, optional
Chicken stock (chicken broth)2½ cups
Spring onion (green onion, scallion)1, sliced

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Toss the beef with soy, cornflour, soda and a spoon of water. Rest 10 minutes.
  2. 2Mix the peanut butter, curry powder, sugar and ground shrimp with a little hot water into a sauce.
  3. 3Fry the beef in oil until just browned, then add the satay sauce and toss.
  4. 4Cook the noodles in the stock and pour into bowls. Top with the satay beef and spring onion.
Serve it like this

Serve in a deep bowl with the satay beef piled on top, a fried egg on toast and a hot milk tea on the side.
