Ingredients

4 servings
Short grain rice (sushi rice)2 cups, cooked
Canned pork luncheon meat1 can, in 8 slices
Soy sauce3 tbsp
Sugar3 tbsp
Nori sheets4 sheets, halved
Sesame seeds1 tsp, or furikake
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cook the rice and keep it warm.
  2. 2Fry the Spam slices in the oil until crisp on both sides.
  3. 3Add soy and sugar and turn the slices until glazed and sticky.
  4. 4Press rice into the clean Spam can or a mould on a strip of nori, sprinkle sesame, top with Spam and wrap the nori around.
Serve it like this

Wrap each musubi in cling film for lunchboxes, or serve on a board, cut in half, with pickled ginger.
