Ingredients

2 servings
White bread2 thick slices
Egg2
Butter1½ tbsp
Salta pinch
Black peppera pinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cut a 6 cm circle from the centre of each slice with a cup or cutter. Keep the rounds.
  2. 2Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat and lay the bread and rounds in it.
  3. 3Crack an egg into each hole, season and cook until the white sets underneath, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4Flip carefully and cook 30 seconds for a runny yolk, longer if you like it firm. Toast the rounds on both sides.
Serve it like this

Serve straight from the pan with the toasted rounds on the side for dipping into the yolk. Ketchup and a glass of milk for the kids.
