Raw banana (green plantain)3 raw bananas, cubed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Mustard seeds½ tsp
Ajwain (carom seeds)½ tsp
Sesame seeds2 tsp
Asafoetidaa pinch
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1 tsp
Coriander powder (ground coriander)2 tsp
Sugar1 tsp
Lemon juice2 tsp
Coriander leaves (cilantro)a handful
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Peel and cube raw bananas; keep in water.
  2. 2Heat oil, crackle mustard, ajwain, sesame and asafoetida.
  3. 3Add drained bananas, turmeric and salt; cover and cook on low with a splash of water until tender.
  4. 4Add chilli, coriander powder and sugar; toss and finish with lemon and coriander.
Serve it like this
