Ingredients

6 servings
Colocasia leaves (taro leaves)about 30 young taro leaves
Thick coconut milk600 ml coconut cream
Onion1, finely chopped
Saltto taste
Banana leavesto wrap, or foil

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix coconut cream, onion and salt.
  2. 2Stack 5 leaves into a cup shape, spoon in coconut cream and fold the leaves to enclose.
  3. 3Wrap each parcel in banana leaf and foil.
  4. 4Bake at 180°C for 1 hour until the leaves are very soft.
Serve it like this

Unwrap the parcels at the table and serve with boiled taro, breadfruit or roast meat.
