Ingredients

Water chestnut flour (singhara atta)1 cup
Ghee6 tbsp
Sugar½ cup
Water1⅔ cups, or half milk
Cardamom¼ tsp
Almondsa few, slivered

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Heat water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Keep hot.
  2. 2Roast the singhara atta in ghee on low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. 3Pour in the syrup slowly while stirring.
  4. 4Cook until the halwa leaves the sides and ghee shows at the edges. Add cardamom and almonds.
Serve it like this

Serve in small bowls, warm or chilled as it likes best, with a few chopped nuts on top.
