Ingredients

4 servings
Beef600 g sirloin, sliced thin
Peanuts½ cup roasted, finely ground
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)2 tsp (more for real heat)
Kashmiri chilli powder2 tsp
Dry ginger powder (ground ginger)1½ tsp
Garlic3 cloves, grated
Stock cube (bouillon cube)½ cube, crushed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1½ tbsp
Onion1, thinly sliced to serve
Tomato1, sliced to serve
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix ground peanuts, both chilli powders, ginger, crushed cube and salt. This is yaji.
  2. 2Thread beef onto soaked skewers. Rub with garlic and oil, then press yaji on generously. Rest 20 minutes.
  3. 3Grill on very high heat or under the oven grill, turning, until charred at the edges.
  4. 4Sprinkle with more yaji and serve with raw onion and tomato.
Serve it like this

Serve on paper or a wooden board, skewers piled high, raw onion rings and tomato slices on top and extra yaji in a small dish.
