Ingredients

Mutton (goat meat)500 g lamb, on the bone
Potato2, quartered
Carrot1, chunks
Zucchini (courgette, baby marrow)1, chunks
Pumpkin150 g, cubed
Onion1 large, chopped
Tomato2, chopped
Tomato puree2 tbsp
Garlic3 cloves
Baharat2½ tsp
Dried lime1 dried lime
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Chapati, cooked4 regag or thin chapatis, torn
Saltto taste
Water4 cups

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Brown the lamb with onion and garlic in oil, then add baharat and turmeric.
  2. 2Add tomato, puree, loomi and water. Simmer covered until the lamb is nearly tender.
  3. 3Add potato, carrot, pumpkin and zucchini and cook until tender.
  4. 4Layer torn bread in a deep dish, ladle over the broth, then top with meat and vegetables.
Serve it like this

Serve in a deep dish with the bread at the bottom, lamb and vegetables piled on top and extra broth in a jug. Eat hot.
