Ingredients

4 servings
Mutton (goat meat)500 g lamb, on the bone
Okra (lady's finger)500 g small okra, tops trimmed
Tomato puree⅔ cup
Tomato2, chopped
Garlic6 cloves, whole
Onion1, chopped
Baharat1½ tsp
Lemon juice1½ tbsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Saltto taste
Water3 cups

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Brown the lamb with the onion in oil, add baharat and water and simmer until tender.
  2. 2Fry the okra in a separate pan for a few minutes until bright green.
  3. 3Add tomato, tomato paste and whole garlic cloves to the lamb and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. 4Add the okra and lemon and simmer gently until the okra is tender but whole.
Serve it like this

Ladle into a deep bowl, lamb and okra on top. Serve hot with plain white rice, pickles and raw onion.
