Ingredients

Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)1⅔ cups
Butter½ cup (or oil)
Sugar1 cup
Water¾ cup
Rose water3 tbsp
Saffrona big pinch, steeped
Cardamom1 tsp
Pistachiosslivered
Almondsslivered

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Boil sugar and water, then stir in saffron, rose water and cardamom. Keep warm.
  2. 2Toast the flour in a dry pan on low, stirring constantly, until golden brown.
  3. 3Stir in butter until smooth, then carefully pour in the syrup, stirring fast.
  4. 4Cook until it pulls from the pan, then press onto a plate and decorate with nuts.
Serve it like this

Spread on a plate, pressed with a spoon pattern and scattered with nuts. Serve with tea.
