Ingredients

4 servings
Potato3 medium, boiled
Carrot1, finely chopped
Green beansa handful, chopped
Green peas⅓ cup
Beetroot (beet)1 small, grated
Onion1 small, chopped
Ginger2.5 cm, grated
Green chilli2, chopped
Garam masala1 tsp
Chaat masala1 tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1 tsp
Coriander leaves (cilantro)a handful
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)3 tbsp, for slurry
Whole wheat bread (wholemeal bread)3 slices, crumbed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for shallow frying
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Steam carrot, beans and peas till tender. Mash with potato and beetroot.
  2. 2Mix in onion, ginger, chilli, spices, coriander and salt. Shape into ovals.
  3. 3Dip each in maida slurry, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. 4Shallow fry till golden on both sides.
Serve it like this

Drain on paper for a minute, pile onto a plate and serve hot with chutney on the side.
