Ubepurple yam, boiled and finely grated
Condensed milk (sweetened condensed milk)⅔ cup
Evaporated milk¾ cup
Thick coconut milk¾ cup
Butter4 tbsp
Sugar2 tbsp

- 1Boil the ube until tender, about 30 minutes. Peel and grate or mash very finely.
- 2Melt the butter in a wide nonstick pan, add the ube, milks, coconut milk, sugar and salt.
- 3Cook on low, stirring constantly, for 40 minutes until thick and pulling away from the pan.
- 4Press into greased moulds and cool to set.
Serve it like thisUnmould onto a plate and top with latik or toasted coconut. Serve small slices, or spoon into halo halo.
