Ingredients

Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)3¼ cups
Sugar½ cup
Baking powder2 tsp
Banana3 very ripe bananas, mashed
Egg1
Milk¾ cup
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp
Salta pinch
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for deep frying, about 7 tbsp absorbed

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Whisk the mashed banana, egg, milk and vanilla.
  2. 2Fold in flour, sugar, baking powder and salt to a thick batter that holds on a spoon.
  3. 3Drop spoonfuls into oil at 170°C and fry 4 to 5 minutes, turning, until deep golden.
  4. 4Drain on paper and serve warm.
Serve it like this
